Cow with a Horn Fracture
Fracture in horn is one of the most common conditions amongst the cattle. It may cause by direct violence or by striking the horn against a hard object. Last week we have received one such case in our facility. The cow was rescued and brought to our hospital by some local animal lovers. It was severely infected and dehydrated when it came to our facility. Our teams of vets clean and disinfect the exposed horn. Protect it with an antiseptic pad and bandage. The cow is still under medication. Vets removed the infected core and splinted the fractured horn. The cow will be in our shelter till it stabilizes completely and then will be released in the field.
Despite the strong relationship with human today cows are suffering unimaginably at the hands of humans who exploit it incessantly. Humans need to stop abandoning them to serve their selfish purpose. Let us all protect this valuable creation and our heritage as well.
